MOVEMENT RESTORATION

a brain and body approach to moving better and feeling good

Fridays in May starting May 6th

4 week class series $99 | Enrollment closes Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at 11:59pm Pacific

Do you want to decrease pain, tension, and tightness through an integrated brain and body approach?

Are you looking to restore movement to joints that have lost range of motion?

Do you feel stiff all the time and need a whole body follow along routine to help you feel better?

Are you ready to improve body awareness, coordination and movement quality?

In this class we will explore:

  • Dynamic joint mobility exercises to increase range of motion, flexibility, and decrease pain

  • Therapy ball rolling and self massage sequences to roll away tension while increasing sensation in muscles

  • Precise motor control exercises with and without resistance bands to increase proprioception, body awareness, and improve the connection between brain and body

  • Balance, vision, and coordination exercises to increase stability and improve posture

  • Breathing exercises to help manage stress and support nervous system health

  • Perceptual Cognitive Motor Training: using randomized visual cues to work on focus, attention, reaction time, decision making, and reactive balance and coordinated movement

Equipment:

  1. One light AND one medium jumpstretch resistance band. I highly recommend investing in the fabric bands, but here are both options to consider:

    • Rubber/latex resistance bands You will need a #0 and a #1 resistance band. The rubber is more affordable than the fabric option, but can be irritating to grip.

      OR

    • Fabric resistance bands. You will need a light (gray) and medium (green) band. These are my preferred bands if they work for your budget.

    • You may want to purchase a heavy resistance band as well (this is optional).

  2. A pair of therapy massage balls like the Yoga Tune Up Balls in the smaller original size.

  3. Chair, stool, or something to sit on when we do certain vision and neck exercises.

  4. Comfortable area to lie down or kneel and any additional props you know you will need to make the ground more comfortable (yoga mat, pillow, folded blanket, etc.)

  • This depends on your level of pain or the nature of your injury.

If you are unsure, please get clearance from a medical provider before starting any new exercise routine.

If you are currently struggling with chronic pain that makes it difficult for you to perform day to day tasks or have a recent and active injury, then this program is not for you.

However, if your pain is well managed or you have a history of injury and you have been cleared to exercise by your doctor, then this program may be appropriate for you.

You are always welcome to do less or just observe.
