KETTLEBELL CONNECTIONS — a 4 week live online class series to bridge the gap to multi-directional strength

4 live classes on ZOOM starting Saturday, May 7th + 4 pre-recorded classes to work through at your own pace

Registration: $125 | Enrollment closes Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at 11:59pm Pacific

Life moves in varied directions. You have to bend, twist, stabilize, change course, and generate force in lots of ways every day. But….most of the exercises we do are performed in a single plane of motion.

Knowing the basics is important but, there’s a disconnect between what most of us do for strength training, and being able to move dynamically with confidence.

That’s why I created this class series - to bridge the gap between traditional “hard-style” kettlebell exercises and multi-directional strength.

This program is for you if:

  • you’re already familiar with basics like the kettlebell deadlift, swing, get up, and press.

  • you are ready to build strength in more varied planes of motion.

  • you’ve seen more advanced kettlebell moves out there, but have no idea where to start or how to build a base of strength so you don’t get hurt.

  • you want to learn how to safely generate force and power in spiraling movements and at end ranges of motion.

  • you’re feeling bored with your current routine and want to learn variations and progressions of kettlebell exercises.

  • you’re looking for structure and accountability with one live class to ask questions and get feedback + one pre-recorded workout to practice what you’re learning!

  • you’re looking for a place to learn, get stronger and also have some fun!

Get stronger and more confident in the basics that let you take your training off center. AND the good news is you don’t need to know how to perform cleans or snatches!

In this class series, you’ll learn how to:

  • Properly load the hips in rotational movement patterns.

  • Increase back muscle strength to support rotational movements.

  • Develop strength in split stance, single leg, and various lunge positions.

  • Stabilize when changing direction.

You’ll learn movements like:

  • Split stance deadlifts and kettlebell swings

  • Rotational deadlifts, cleans, and presses

  • The basics of spiraling kettlebell movements

  • Traveling swings and hand to hand changes

  • Lateral lunges and lunge variations

  • A variation on the classic get up

  • Multi-positional presses

Equipment:

  1. At least 2 kettlebells - one light, one medium. Many of the positions we will train are probably new to you, so you’ll want a kettlebell on the lighter side while you’re learning. I don’t recommend using a heavy weight for some of the end range lunge positions, or the rotational movements until you’re comfortable with the movement patterns.

  2. One medium weight jump stretch resistance band:

How the class series works:

For 4 weeks, we’ll meet live through ZOOM on Saturdays for 45-60 minutes. Each class will be recorded and available as a replay during the 4 weeks of the course. You’ll also get a pre-recorded 30-45 minute workout each week to complement what you’re learning in the Saturday class to give you another opportunity to practice and help your body get stronger. You’ll also have access to all the class recordings for 30 days AFTER the class series ends.

CLASS SCHEDULE

Saturdays at 10:00am Pacific

May 7th, May 14th, May 21st, May 28th

Each week an additional 30-45 minute pre-recorded workout will be added to the library to practice what you’re learning in the Saturday class.

  • We will NOT break down the absolute kettlebell basics. You should already be familiar with deadlifts, swings, presses, the standard get up, and rows. You do not need to know the clean or snatch.

We will be doing loaded rotational movements. This can be a great way to develop a stronger back and hips. Many of the movements may be new to you and will require you to be aware of when you need to rest or decrease the weight or repetitions you perform.

We will be doing multiple sets of two hand swings, single hand swings, and various lunges. You can always stop, observe, and rest whenever you want. You are always welcome to participate as much or as little as you want.

This class is probably appropriate if you can perform 2-3 sets of 10 deadlifts, and 5-6 sets of 10 kettlebell swings.

We will be changing directions, and moving from kneeling to standing and back to kneeling.

Email Isabelle at become@strongerhuman.com if you are not sure and want to discuss if this class is appropriate.

  • Please purchase thoughtfully. Refunds, credits and/or extensions will not be available for this class series.

  • You will have access to all the class recordings in a class library. You’ll also get access to the classes for 30 days after the end of the live class schedule. Access to the replay library will end on June 26, 2022. Downloads and extensions will not be available.

  • This depends on your level of pain or the nature of your injury. This class will move quickly and in varied planes of motion. Regressions and progressions will be offered, but modifying exercises for specific issues will not be offered. Specific modifications can be provided in a one on one session so email Isabelle at become@strongerhuman.com to book a private session.

Please get clearance from a medical provider before starting any new exercise routine if you are not sure what types of exercise are appropriate for you.

If you are currently struggling with chronic pain that makes it difficult for you to perform day to day tasks or have a recent and active injury, then this program is not for you.
